My name is Jim House. I view life as a journey. My journey has been pretty good! There are twists and turns that occur. The true test of a “life lived well” is your ability to be flexible and adapt. As I start my next phase in life, “which I am really looking forward to!”, I am excited about what lies around the next bend in the trail!
After 37 years in the corporate world of software engineering, training & documentation, information systems, and program management, I am starting a new segment on the trail. I am pursing my passion of photography and working to learn as much as I can everyday! My primary interests are artistic, landscape, travel, and product photography. I have shot event photography for We Build Character, a non-profit, that provides a year long mentoring program for mid-level professionals looking to step into the leadership role. I have worked with this mentoring program from its original inception with Michigan’s Automation Alley.
A goal is to buy a Class B RV (van size) and use it as my mobile photography platform! This would enable me to travel and take landscapes. Having the flexibility to be “close to the photo” for early, late, and middle of the night shots would be ideal. The thought of being nomadic and just wandering the continental United Status & Canada is very appealing! I have not convince my wife, Tricia, yet.
Tricia has a thriving custom handmade soap business that you can check out at this link: Pink Parchment Soaps
I see the next segment of the trail as being a time to slow down, find time for myself, and to enjoy the journey even more. Time is precious and you only get so much. Make every minute count!
All the Best! – Jim
